Meet Hana
Hana Gutierrez Therapy is for those in the BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ communities who desire a space to be fully seen.
Hi I’m Hana.
I am a Black and Latinx Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in Las Vegas, Nevada. I received my Masters degree in Marriage and Family therapy in 2022 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I have lived in Las Vegas for over 10 years.
I am an anti-racist therapist who is aware that being anti- racism is a lifelong journey. Racism is a feature of the capitalist system. I believe in practicing and learning daily how to heal and unlearn these teachings. I value deeply discussing and exploring the ways oppressive systems including but not limited to sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and ableism, affect our mental wellbeing. These are necessary lenses to add in and outside of the therapy space to provide an honest view of the world. These values are important to me because Western mental health has for so long shamed individuals for being affected by the violence of capitalism. I know personally how freely and healing it can be to name the thing. When we are no longer shaming ourselves for the side effects of capitalism we are suffering, we can begin to heal and reconnect with community.
